Chinese American Bear (华裔美国熊) is a lighthearted and quirky mandopop duo from Seattle, WA creating fun & eclectic bilingual English/Chinese ear candy. Comprised of Anne Tong and Bryce Barsten, the married couple creates groovy, and “not too serious, food loving” tunes in their home studio together. Their sound—somewhere between Melody’s Echo Chamber, The B-52’s, The Flaming Lips, and a hypercolor cartoon—has earned millions of streams and global acclaim.

Coral Grief is the Seattle-based dream pop project of Lena Farr-Morrissey (vocals, bass, synth) Sam Fason (guitar, synth) and Cam Hancock (drums). Rich guitars, glowing synths, driving bass, and ethereal vocals swirl around skeletal drum beats to create a textured, intricate sound that is experimental, playful, and catchy.

Gabriel Teodros

Gabriel Teodros is a storied emcee, producer and DJ from South Seattle who first made a mark with the group Abyssinian Creole, and reached an international audience with his critically-acclaimed solo debut Lovework. He has been setting stages on fire ever since, all across the US, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Ethiopia and South Africa; often in combination with workshops on creative writing, music, history, science fiction and media literacy.

Ellie Barber a.k.a. Ollella (oh-lel-uh) began her career as a musician when she sang before she could talk.
Trained as a classical cellist since the age of nine, the Seattle indie-folk artist merges her technical string background with authoritative vocals and live-looping. Described as “really outstanding” by NPR Music and “so tastefully done” by Michelle Zauner (Japanese Breakfast), Ollella’s sound is organic with a side of edge, pulling on influences such as Feist, Cat Power, and Sylvan Esso.

Warren Dunes plays PNW Tropicalia and is led by keyboardist/vocalist Julia Massey. Their unique style of Beach Rock is born from the cold waters and grey sky beaches of the Salish Sea, and is highlighted by Massey’s double keyboards and crystalline voice soaring over chiming guitars and thundering drums from husband Jared Cortese and his brother Dominic Cortese.

Opportunities for Musicians
Each year, Sonic Guild provides grants to support artists at different stages of their careers. Musicians are nominated by members, mentors, and past recipients. Eligible artists are invited to apply.
