The Peterson Brothers

Biography

Six years ago Pat Morgan, manager of the late Pinetop Perkins’, gave young Glenn and Alex Peterson their first opportunity to play onstage with the legendary bluesman. At the time they were only 13 and 11, and it was immediately apparent from that halcyon moment at Antone’s in Austin, Texas, that these two very talented musicians were meant to write and play music, and to continue to “pass the pick” around the world.

Born and raised deep in the “Lost Pines” of Bastrop, Texas, Alex, now 16, on bass, violin and vocals; and Glenn Jr., now 19, on guitar, percussion and lead vocals, are two brothers with a very bright future. Their music combines the classic sounds of the blues legends that came before them, yet they possess their own uniquely modern blend of blues, soul, funk and rock infused music. In just a few short years they have had the opportunity to open for the late B.B. King, Willie Nelson, Los Lonely Boys, Lisa Marie Presley, and many more. They have also played with Buddy Guy, Michael Burks and some of Austin’s finest musicians. The Peterson Brothers have also gained the attention of the one and only Bootsy Collins, who has become a true mentor.

Six years after jamming with Pinetop, they have lived up to those early expectations, and have recently completed their debut album, The Peterson Brothers, on Blue Point Records, produced by Grammy Award winning producer Michael Freeman. The title was #1 the week of Aug 18th, 2015 on the sales charts of the noted Waterloo Records store in Austin, and sales continue to be strong. Glenn and Alex are honing their chops daily, and are dazzling audiences wide and far including playing gigs in New York City, Maine, Nantucket, Vermont, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Arkansas, and of course all over their home state of Texas, where they hold down a “standing room only” weekly Monday residency at Austin’s famed music hall The Continental Club.
