Jim Eno is the drummer and one of the founding members of the band Spoon. He also owns and operates Public Hi-Fi, a recording studio in Austin, Texas.

Eno was born in Rhode Island and went on to study electrical engineering at North Carolina State University. After graduation he worked as a hardware design engineer at Compaq Computer in Houston and moved to Austin to design microchips for Motorola. He then worked at AMD, DEC and multiple start up companies before making the transition to working full time in the music business in mid-2006.

Eno met Britt Daniel when he replaced the drummer of Daniel’s former band The Alien Beats and Daniel and Eno went on to form the band Spoon in 1993. Spoon has gone on to release eight LPs: the past 3 (Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, Transference and 2014’s They Want My Soul) debuted in the top ten in Billboard.

As a producer, Eno has worked with !!!, The Heartless Bastards, The Preatures, The Relatives and many more. He has also engineered records for producers Tony Visconti and Steve Berlin at Public Hi-Fi.

Starting at the Austin City Limits Festival in 2012 and continuing at each SXSW since 2013, Jim Eno has been curating exclusive sessions for Spotify. Artists featured include: The Shins, Palma Violets, Father John Misty, The 1975, Phantogram, Poliça, Jagwar Ma, The Hold Steady, Twin Peaks, Courtney Barnett and more.
