Music's In Our Blood: The Pacific Northwest Is Facing One of Its Most Serious Blood Shortages in Decades

Bloodworks Northwest has declared a Code Red.
Hospitals across Washington and Oregon are facing a critically low blood supply, creating one of the most serious blood shortages our region has experienced in decades.
This week reminded us how suddenly tragedy can strike. Like so many in our community, we've been thinking about how close that violence came to the musicians, audiences, crews, volunteers, and staff who make live music possible. It also reminded us that our hospitals need a stable blood supply.
That's why we're asking the Pacific Northwest music community to come together over the next two weeks and help encourage blood donation.
