Helping Independent Artists Stay on the Road
Touring is one of the most important ways musicians build sustainable careers. Every show introduces new audiences, strengthens fan communities, and creates opportunities that simply can't happen from home. But touring is also expensive.
Rising fuel costs, lodging, vehicle maintenance, merchandise production, and the countless unexpected expenses of life on the road can make even the best opportunities financially out of reach. Sonic Guild's Tour Support Grants exist to help independent artists say yes to those opportunities. Rather than funding a single project, these grants invest in career momentum, helping musicians reach new audiences, grow their fanbase, and continue building long-term careers.
How the Program Works
Tour Support Grants are available to eligible artists based in Washington, Texas, and Colorado.
Artists may receive $150 per eligible tour date, up to $1,500 annually, to help offset the real costs of touring.
Grant funds may be used for:
Fuel and transportation
Hotels and lodging
Meals while touring
Vehicle repairs and maintenance
Van rentals
Backline rental
Merchandise production
Other eligible touring expenses
Unlike traditional sponsorships, artists retain complete ownership of their work and decide how the funding best supports their tour.
Who Can Apply?
The program is designed for independent musicians pursuing professional careers.
Applicants must:
Be based in Washington, Texas, or Colorado
Meet their chapter's residency requirements
Be at least 21 years old
Be touring outside their home market
Have a confirmed qualifying tour itinerary
Applications are reviewed by regional panels made up of music industry professionals who evaluate artistic merit, tour readiness, and the potential career impact of the proposed tour.
Why Tour Support Matters
A few hundred dollars can make the difference between canceling a tour and reaching thousands of new listeners.
Since launching the program, Sonic Guild has helped artists perform hundreds of tour dates across North America, Europe, Japan, and Mexico.
Whether it's helping an artist buy gas to reach the next city, print merchandise before leaving home, or afford a safe place to sleep after a show, Tour Support Grants remove barriers so musicians can focus on what matters most: sharing their music.
2026 Grant Timeline
The application remains open year-round. Applications are reviewed during scheduled funding cycles based on tour dates.
